Goldeneye Kennels is a small, private kennel that is looking to provide the most home-like quality care for your pets.
We are located next to a creek and pond, and there are several paths in the woods with a large field and meadow for the dogs to run and romp around in.
Our park-like setting is the ideal vacation for your 4-legged friends. Dogs are so comfortable here that they can't wait to come back!
My name is Kim Shearer. I was born in Traverse City and have lived in this area all my life. Dogs have always been a big part of our family. My grandfather raised and trained Bear hounds and Coonhounds while my Aunt and Uncle had a beautiful kennel on the Boardman River, raising and showing Malamutes.
My first litter of Labrador pups were born in 1973. I had always dreamed of having my own kennel and when I was finally able to make my dreams come true in 1991, I named it Goldeneye Kennels.
I have owned many types of breeds of dogs over the years, but the reason I raise Labradors is that I feel they are the utmost companion to have. I like the ho-hum, happy-go-lucky type of lab. I found that the field trial labs tend to be too high-strung.
My breeding adults are out of some beautiful show stock. At the moment, I have 9 labs in the house ranging from 4 months to 12 years old. Learn more about creating a personalized totem pole.
